As the Founder and Publisher of LGBTwed Magazine, Joella led the creation, launch, and national growth of a groundbreaking publication dedicated to celebrating love and inclusivity in the wedding industry. At a pivotal time when same-sex unions and marriages were just beginning to gain legal recognition across various U.S. states, LGBTWed gave voice to LGBTQ+ couples by showcasing their weddings in authentic, first-person narratives.

Under Joella’s leadership, the magazine rapidly expanded its reach – from concept to a distribution of 50,000 copies within three years—available on newsstands nationwide, including Barnes & Noble and Apple Newsstand. The publication was recognized by major wedding industry associations and became a trusted resource for both couples and vendors navigating a changing cultural and legal landscape.

Highlights included:

  • Producing two major vendor showcases and fashion shows spotlighting inclusive wedding trends and talent.
  • Organizing an international demonstration event in Cancún, elevating visibility for destination LGBT weddings.
